I don't understand monosexuality (gay or straight). I mean, I get the definition, but it's beyond my understanding how it's possible to be gay or straight.
I started thinking about that the other day, when a friend of mine said he didn't understand bisexuality, and he didn't know how it was possible to like men and women. To which I responded, how can you NOT like men and women? Women are beautiful, amazing, wonderful things. So are men. And I don't understand how gender can be powerful enough to erase ALL chance a person has with half the population.
I realize now that since monosexuality is beyond me, I can't ask monosexuals to understand bi-/pansexuality. However, I still respect monosexuals, so I can still ask them to respect me and my orientation.
I was just wondering: Do any of you understand monosexuality, beyond the dictionary definition?
